Driveways flooded with sewage for years

Customers are forever complaining that they cannot drive into the premises due to the sewage

A business and the IFP office in Lyell Street have had their driveways flooded with raw effluent for years on end due to blocked manholes and drains.

Speaking to IFP councillor Abbas Warasally and business owner Nargesh Ramdharee, they say the problem has affected them for many years and nothing has been done about it.

Nargesh says his customers are forever complaining that they cannot drive into his premises due to the sewage.

Cllr Warasally will be taking the matter further with the municipality and says he is appalled by the service they have been getting from the municipality.

“I hope the problem can be fixed soon so that the constant stench and water can go away.”
