New political party formed to be the voice of the taxi industry
"As the taxi bosses, we want to put an end to the taxi violence"

A new political party called Alliance for Transformation for All (ATA) has been formed.
ATA chairperson Mr Bhekuyise Masondo is also the chairperson of the Klipriver Taxi Association. The spokesperson for the new party is Andile Hlatshwayo.
“The main aim of us forming the ATA is to free taxi people from the oppression of the ruling government. For instance, the government introduced licences that last for a certain period and thereafter they expire. In that way, we feel oppressed, as this decision to introduce licences that expire was taken without informing us as taxi bosses. We also want to put an end to the taxi violence,” said Mr Masondo.
He added that, “To show that people are in favour of this party, we have traditional leaders and leaders of congregations who support us.”
