Mozambique Spitting Cobra found hiding in water feature

After toiling for quite some time, Fanie managed to get his hands on the cobra and safely removed it

A Mozambique Spitting Cobra was found hiding in a water feature at Mount View Lodge.

Workers at the lodge spotted the snake and immediately contacted local snake expert Fanie Cilliers. Speaking to Fanie, he says that to get to the reptile was tough, as he had to dismantle the entire water feature.

After toiling for quite some time, Fanie managed to get his hands on the cobra and safely removed it.

Lodge workers were shocked at the size of the snake in Fanie’s hands, measuring about 1.35m. It was no doubt looking for food in the area.

Fanie says people need to be vigilant at all times for snakes near their homes.
