Post Office breaks up boozy parties

Complaints from residents centred on the state of the post box area, including broken bottles, public urination and harassment of female residents in particular.

After numerous complaints about partying outside the Dannhauser Post Office, action has been taken by the South African Post Office (SAPO).

SAPO spokeswoman, Nobuhle Njapha has said the matter has since been resolved.

Complaints from residents centred on the state of the post box area, including broken bottles, public urination and harassment of female residents in particular.

Ms Njapha explained the post office was situated opposite a butchery, which sold braai meat outside.

This convenience made it for residents to use the post office to eat their meals while drinking, but she confirms the butchery has since closed.

Ms Njapha added that notices had been placed at the post office, warning people not to drink on the premises.
