Blazing inferno guts Allen Street home
Newcastle Fire Services is at the scene containing the flames, although the house has been razed to the ground.
A fire broke out at a house on Allen Street, shortly after 2pm this afternoon.
According to officials, the home was vacant at the time of the fire and no injuries were reported. Newcastle Fire Services is currently on the scene containing the flames, although the house has been razed to the ground.
The exact cause of the fire is unclear at this stage.
One lane of Allen Street is currently obstructed, as officials attempt to douse the flames. Motorists are cautioned when using this section of the road.
