Dundee Methodist Church Women’s Auxiliary marks centenary
We in the Church cannot wait for people to come to worship and met Christ - we must go out to them and introduce them to Christ'.

The Dundee Methodist Church on Sunday morning held a special church service marking 100 years of the Dundee Methodist Women’s Auxiliary.
Rubery Levine, Dundee Methodist WA chairlady, lit a candle in the church as a symbol of peace to welcome congregants many of whom were representatives from Pietermaritzburg, Howick, Newcastle, Ladysmith and Vryheid Methodist WAs.
Jackie Murray, District WA President from Howick, congratulated the Methodist WA for standing strong for 100 years during which time the local ladies have spread the Church’s vision of a ‘Christ-healed Africa for the Healing of the Nations’.

Reverend Wesley Pillay led a sermon entitled ‘Women hold up half of the sky’ during which he noted that in the New Testament many of the women mentioned (the Samaritan women with seven husbands, Peter’s mother-in-law who needed healing, among others) were not even named.
“These women were strong, important but were not named. Times have changed. Women are very much part of society – they hold up half of the sky with the men holding the other half. The Church can no longer do church the way it used to. Women work just as hard as men and bring up their children. Like Rebekkah, Isaac’s wife, who in Genesis, we read how she challenged tradition by ensuring their younger son, Jacob, received their father’s blessing rather than Esau as accordance to God’s will.
