Winter Knights warm the hearts of the homeless

Mario Maritz and Julio Marques ventured out into the chilly evening, in search of those less fortunate, who endure Vryheid's often extreme winter conditions on the streets, in Mother Nature's icy grip.

For contributors to the Round Table Winter Knights campaign, the fruits of their generosity have paid off.
On Monday night, which was arguably one of the coldest nights of the winter season thus far, and after their collection outside Spar, Vryheid Round Tablers, Mario Maritz and Julio Marques returned to the clubhouse to sort through the donations.
With these, they put together food and blanket parcels for the homeless of Vryheid.
Mario and Julio then ventured out into the chilly evening, in search of those less fortunate, who endure Vryheid’s often extreme winter conditions on the streets, in Mother Nature’s icy grip.
The poorest of the poor were treated with compassion, receiving food, blankets and basic necessities to keep warm with.
Mario has once again thanked the Vryheid community for its support, without which, the Round Table Winter Knights campaign would not have been such a heartwarming success.
