Hikers in youthful spirits

Everyone at the hike discussed and wrote down on a Hikeobics T-shirt what Youth Month meant to them, and how the hike has benefited them in their daily lives.

TMMPhysio hosted its monthly Hikeobics on June 29, at Normandien Farm just outside Newcastle. The purpose of the hike is to encourage the community of Newcastle to get fit and healthy.

The June hike was themed ‘Hike for Youth Month’, and learners also participated.

11-year-old Lonwabo Masango, said he enjoyed the hike: “I always attend Hikeobics and I am first to wake my mom up on hike day. I enjoy the peace and views we see when hiking, and I always brag to my friends when I’m showing them pictures of where I went. Since it’s Youth Month, I am grateful for the privilege to be able to go to school and be educated,” he said.

The founder of Hikeobics also donated 100 sanitary pads to the Woman First Foundation, which will assist many young girls in the Newcastle area.
