IFP Case: Cross questioning continued on day 2 of the trial
Cross-questioning got underway at the Estcourt Magistrate's Court in the IFP case
Following the not guilty plea made by the three accused in the “Inkatha Freedom Party (IFP) case” on Monday, cross-examination continued on Tuesday in the Estcourt Magistrate’s Court.

The accused are IFP Councillor Mthembeni Majola, Former Endumeni Local Municipality Mayor Richard Mbatha and alleged hitman Xolani Makhathini.
Former Endumeni Local Municipality Speaker Bongiwe Mbatha was reminded that she is under oath by Magistrate Shoba after which Advocate Augustine resumed cross-questioning.
She endured tough cross-examination by Advocate Augustine.
State Prosecutor Nel also called her second witness to the witness box, the Investigating Officer Mr MM Ndlovu. After being sworn in he was asked about the details concerning the undercover operation, which was approved by the Department of Public Prosecution.
State Prosecutor Nel announced that Mr Ndlovu’s evidence is crucial and will set the foundation of the case. Since he was called to High Court the next day, Magistrate Shoba announced that the trial continue on November 11, 12 and 13 for state witnesses and further evidence.
