Pothole patching and resurfacing in the pipeline says MM

From October until December, pothole repairs have been scheduled for several areas

After almost a year, Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality has finally publicly revealed its pothole patching and resurfacing plans.

This came after Nishal Rampersadh complained of damage to his vehicle caused by potholes, for the second time.
The poor condition of the majority of roads in Estcourt came under the spotlight once again and more questions about repairs arose.

In a previous edition of the Estcourt News, Municipal Manager Patrick Mkhize said that a road repair and pothole patching programme was in place, but also mentioned that material required had not been procured since May 2019.
While Mr Mkhize did not respond to questions regarding the budget set aside for road maintenance and why no material had been procured, he did outline the ‘pothole preparation and patching’ plan.

Pothole repairs should have commenced in the central business district, Khwezi and Colita by now (October), before moving to Forderville.

For the month of November, areas in Wembezi and Forderville are scheduled for pothole patching, and during December, repairs in Wembezi will continue, with roads in Weenen also receiving attention.
