Mr Mkhize explained that the pothole patching program has been delayed but should have been back on track at the beginning of November.

“Cleaning of gutters has begun and progressing well. Potholes were delayed due to the generator and jack hammer that was being repaired and awaiting payment but the program started on November 5,” said Mr Mkhize.

At the end of October Mr Mkhize said that a team from the municipality was working to ‘draw up a programme for all the streets in town with drains and gutters that require urgent attention”, however none of the locations that this has been done were revealed by the MM.
