The Al-Imdaad Foundation team set about repairing road damage at a busy intersection

The intersection of Zinnia and Industria roads has been damaged for many months.

This busy road, which is mere meters away from ML Sultan Primary and Drakensberg Secondary schools, is a hub of activity during mornings and afternoons.

The damaged road surface meant that drivers had to swerve to avoid the growing craters or grit their teeth and drive over it because there isn’t any other option.

After damaged was caused to his vehicle today, Naeem Khan from the humanitarian relief organisation Al-Imdaad Foundation, set off with a team to temporarily repair this section of road.

“For now we are placing sand over the potholes and we will be getting tar soon to place over the surface,” said Mr Khan while supervising the team of three in the scorching heat this afternoon.

He added that the damaged road had been left neglected for many months, like most roads in and around Estcourt.
