Commemorative parkrun set to laud local women

Men have to bring a picnic basket, chairs and an umbrella to spoil their wife/friend.

Vryheid parkrun congratulates Rista on running her 50th event, with a personal best (PB) of 36:06. The winner of Saturday’s parkrun was Barry, followed by Mark and Cebo. New PBs were set by Heugene, Trevor, Zelda, Marilze, Lizai ,Thembi and Driekie-Ann – well done. There were several first-time runners/walkers at the event and they were welcomed by the club. March 9 is International Women’s Day and on March 7, there will be a special event commemorating the day. Each registered woman runner/walker must bring along a friend – register them on the Vryheid parkrun website. Men have to bring a picnic basket, chairs and an umbrella to spoil their wife/friend. “Please join us on Saturday, every Saturday, always free; you are always a winner.”
