Blackrock Casino hosted its first Wine and Dine event for the year, in celebration of Valentine’s Day on January 14.

Couples were treated to a candlelit dinner and a live jazz acoustics show, which gently filled the room with serene music and created a romantic ambiance.

Guests indulged in a four course meal, served with four wines from different vineyards across South Africa, enriching the palates of all who attended and bringing the element of romance to life. The unique menu which was served on the evening was crafted by Blackrock’s very own Chef, Gary Smith and his team.

 

What was on the menu?

Appetiser – A seafood and pork mezze platter, paired with a 2019 unwooded Chardonnay.

Starter – A deconstructed ‘valentino’ beef Wellington, paired with a 2018 Cab/Shiraz estate blend.

Mains – Midcity classic chicken supreme, paired with a 2019 Mulberry Bush Merlot.

Dessert – A hearty mixed berry and oreo pavlova, paired with a 2011 Classique Jacques Bruere Cuvee Rose.
