Brian Greenhough elected new Round Table chairman
Dedicated Tabler, Willem Wentzel was also given the axe after turning 41.
Brian Greenhough has taken the chairman’s chain at Dundee Round Table.
The induction dinner was recently held at Lalalapha in Glencoe, where Theuns Ferreira was elected vice-chairman of the organisation. Outgoing chairman, Joff Davies had served two terms at the head of the table.
A highlight of the evening was the axing of dedicated Tabler, Willem Wentzel, who has turned the ‘dreaded age’ of 41. Paying tribute to Willem, fellow Tabler, Charles Wade said Willem joined the service club in 2011.
“He has literally done everything in Table and was chairman in 2016. He was keen a ‘raider’ [of other Clubs] and convened many projects. He was area secretary and Tabler of the Year in 2015. He travelled abroad in 2016 and in 2020 was offered an honorary year, which he accepted. Willem now joins the ranks of the 41ers, where we know he will continue to shine.”
The Leg of the Year trophy went to Melissa Talanda, while the coveted Tabler of the Year award went to Bjorn Talanda. The Travel Award went to David Pinder, and Stirrer of the Year to Brian Greenhough.
