#SiegeofLadysmith2020 – Water plant still out of action

Water woes blamed on protesters

The Umgeni Water team has confirmed that the Ezakheni Water Treatment Plant is still under lock-down.

Protesters are preventing water works staff from accessing the plant. As a result, water shortages and low pressure is currently being experienced by many residents, and is expected to continue.

uThukela and Umgeni will update the public once water is being pumped from the plant again. At the moment, they lay the blame squarely at the door of the protesters.
