Umgeni Water are set to beef up security at the Ezakheni Bulk Water Treatment Plant and police will be deployed to provide more security services around the plant.
According to uThukela, it should be noted that if the plant has been switched off, it takes between 24 and 48 hours to fill up the reservoirs once restarted. Hence, the community can expect some delays in terms of water supply returning to their households.
