Police officer found dead in his home in Ladysmith

Forensics, police and the mortuary service responded to the scene

A police officer was found dead in his home in Leicester Street earlier today (March 8).

It is believed that the officer’s body was in the house for a few days before it was found.

Forensics, police and mortuary staff responded to the scene.

It is unknown at this stage whether the officer killed himself or not.

A large number of SAPS vehicles converged on the scene in Leicester Street while forensics gathered evidence in and around the home.

Police are currently investigating.
