Glencoe Primary scrums down for the pre-season

A total of 11 boys were selected to represent the Vryheid District

Glencoe Primary was off to a hot start and literally kicked off early with rugby trials, after several successful matches and the district selections.

There was a power surge as Glencoe Primary’s players took their positions.
A total of 11 boys were selected to represent the Vryheid District on April 4. They will battle for top honours against other districts for the Northern KwaZulu-Natal selections.

Eagle Peak Spur sponsored the first team with a pre-season rugby tournament in Newcastle. Mr S van Rooyen and Mr H Lloyd accompanied the players.

The players won two of their three matches and each player was awarded with ‘scrummy’ vouchers.
Hlumelo Ntshiba and Avela Masuku both scooped the title of ‘Man of the Match’. With hard training and a few tweaks, the players will be quick off the mark for their next tour to Durban soon.
