Officers conduct roadblocks on first day of Ladysmith lockdown
2 deaths have been reported, so take the lockdown seriously and stay at home

Police and Public Safety officers were out in full force this morning (March 27), conducting roadblocks.
The officers checked for valid permits.
A nationwide lockdown came into effect at midnight last night in an attempt to curb the spread of the Covid-19 (coronavirus) pandemic.

The first deaths resulting from Covid-19 in South Africa have been reported. Two people have died in the Western Cape; one at a private hospital and the other at a public hospital.
People are urged to take the lockdown seriously and stay at home.
