You don’t have to leave home to buy electricity

This only applies to customers that buy electricity from Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality

Prepaid electricity users have a simple solution to top up during the 21-day lockdown.

If you purchase electricity from Inkosi Langalibalele Local Municipality, you won’t need to go out; you can do this from the comfort of your home.

Here’s how:

1. Register your 11-digit meter number via SMS by sending the meter number to 36073. Each SMS costs R5. Or you can register your meter number with a valid email address on wireit.co.za

2. You will become a registered user and can deposit money into a WireIt account using your meter number as a reference number. The following banks are currently supported: ABSA, First National Bank, Nedbank and Standard Bank.

3. Once you purchase electricity, you will receive a token via SMS or email.
