Ladysmith Gazette donates clothing to help the homeless during lockdown

Over 40 homeless people have been taken off the streets

The Ladysmith Mosque Madressa Trust (LMMT) is currently collecting clothes to help the homeless during the lockdown period.

The Ladysmith Gazette has come to the table by donating clothing to the LMMT.

The homeless are being housed at the Utility Hall (Indoor Sports Complex) and ladies have also been accommodated at the Civic Hall.

About 42 homeless people have been taken off the streets and are being cared for. They are given three meals a day and have been screened for Covid-19.

The Department of Social Development, the Department of Health and Alfred Duma Local Municipality are involved in this operation.
