This is the time for strength, says Dundee Hindu Temple

"Tough times never last but tough people do..."

The Dundee Hindu Temple stands in solidarity with the entire human race. We are facing one of the darkest times in world history, and we pray that this too shall pass and our lives will go back to normal.

Nothing ever goes away until it teaches us what we need to know. Right now we need to be positive, follow the rules, keep safe and face the challenges, because tough times never last, but tough people do.

Message from officiating priest – Guru Umeshvaran Nagiah:

Greetings, to the community of Dundee and to people all over the world. Worrying does not empty tomorrow of its troubles – it empties today of its strength. I agree that we are facing one of life’s greatest challenges, but never lose your faith and your hope.

It is time for all of us to stand together and understand that our Government and governments all over the world have recognised the great challenge we all face, and whatever they are doing is in our best interests.

Yes, it is difficult to be in a state of lockdown, but you never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have, and right now that is our only choice – be strong. To be strong, we have to have faith in God. We ask Him to be with us in this difficult time, we ask Him to help us endure, and we pray for his comfort and strength.

My deepest condolences to all those who have lost loved ones to Covid-19. We pray that God gives you strength and courage to move forward. To all people who are infected all over the world, may God grant you a speedy recovery.

To my fellow South Africans, put your faith in God and put your faith in our Government. Help them to help us by following the conditions of the lockdown: stay at home and help to break the chain of infection.

Right now the future looks dark and gloomy, but we have to keep going, because we are not alone.

God is with us. Faith is trusting God, even when you don’t understand his plan. Please stay strong, stay positive, have faith and never give up. God bless you all.
