One arrested after brutal stabbing in Kwamathukuza

It is believed an argument ensued between the female and the boyfriend, which led to her death.

Police have arrested one person, following the brutal stabbing of a 19-year-old female on April 15, in Kwamathukuza.

Spokesperson for Newcastle SAPS, Captain Jabulani Ncube said neighbours contacted the police, who rushed to the scene. When officials arrived there, they found the female had been stabbed 11 times and her throat was slit.

“It was the female’s birthday and it seems an argument ensued between the female and her boyfriend, which led to the boyfriend killing her. The victim was a scholar and the boyfriend was later arrested,” alleged Capt Ncube.

The suspect was due to appear in court today (April 17).

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information becomes available.
