Baby airlifted from Provincial Hospital to Grey’s in Pietermaritzburg

A chopper hovered above before touching down on the hospital's landing pad, which had many people looking up to the skies

A baby was airlifted from Ladysmith Provincial Hospital last night (May 12).

The critically ill baby had to be flown to Grey’s Hospital in Pietermaritzburg for specialised medical care.

A chopper landed on the hospital’s landing pad, which had many people in the area looking up at the skies to see what was going on.

An ambulance transported the baby from the hospital to the waiting chopper.

A senior hospital official was also present at the landing pad and stressed that the incident was not coronavirus (Covid-19) related.
