After the employee showed the district municipality his results, the office building where he works was shut down for decontamination

uThukela District Municipality has confirmed that one of its employees has tested positive for Covid-19.

In a media statement released by uThukela, communications manager Jabulani Mkhonza said that one of their employees showed them his test results, which confirmed that he had tested positive for the coronavirus.

“The employee in question reported the incident to his immediate supervisor on April 28. The employee was at work before testing positive,” said Mkhonza.

He added that after the employee showed them the results, the office building where he works was shut down with immediate effect for decontamination.

“A telephonic investigation was conducted by our Municipal Health Services (MHS) unit for epidemiological surveillance.
