uThukela employee tests positive for Covid-19
The district municipality offices are temporarily closed

uThukela has confirmed that one of its employees has tested positive for the coronavirus (Covid-19).
Acting Municipal Manager Mr Khoza has released a statement informing all staff members and members of the public that the uThukela offices will be temporarily closed for decontamination.
The statement reads: “The uThukela District municipal offices, situated at 36 Lyell Street, would like to confirm that one of the municipal employees tested positive for Covid-19.
“A decision has been taken to temporarily close the municipal offices with effect from July 9 until all health and safety protocols have been conducted, including the disinfection /decontamination of the building.
“We advise employees not to report to the offices from July 9 to 12, but continue working from home as a precautionary measure for their safety.”
The offices will re-open on July 14.
The district municipality says it will continue to provide essential services to its constituent communities. Service delivery related queries must be referred to Customer Care Service on 0860104257.
