Acaciavale Primary School closes after teacher tests positive for Covid-19

Parents are urged to keep their children at home

Acaciavale Primary School (APS) is currently closed after a teacher tested positive for the coronavirus (Covid-19).

The educator was tested on Wednesday (July 8) and received his results on Saturday, immediately notifying management at the school.

The educator was not in contact with the learners during the course of last week.

The school contacted the Department of Education and a risk analysis is being conducted by the Department of Health. The school will be ‘deep cleaned’.

All educators, non-educators, cleaning staff and food handlers will be tested.

Parents are urged to keep their children at home until further notice is given by the school.
