Medical association still providing masks in Ladysmith and surrounding areas

IMA members not only donated masks but did a whole lot more

The Islamic Medical Association (IMA) is continuing with its efforts to stop the spread of the coronavirus (Covid-19) by handing out masks to those in need of one.

During a visit to Eludimbi Primary School in the Msinga region about 100km from Ladysmith, IMA members not only donated masks but did a whole lot more, together with the help of many others.

The visit was facilitated by Mrs Thembilile Mazibuko, who is one of the people who sewed the masks. The IMA delegation was accompanied by representatives from the Al-Imdaad Foundation and La Verna Lenmed Private Hospital, as well as Soojat Khan, Dawood Vawda (Mica), Moulana Cassiem Sulawale and Zakariyya Dada.

In addition to water and a food hamper, each child was also given a mask, beanie, gloves and socks.

Contributions from Ladysmith Mica, TFS, Ladysmith Women’s Forum, Hifazat Women’s Forum and Feroz Moosa (PMB) were acknowledged by the IMA.

According to the association, it was a fulfilling and humbling experience deep in the heart of rural KZN.
