Punters smiling again at the Tote

"We missed all our punters and we especially missed their smiles, all because of Covid-19."

Horse racing lovers have also been hard hit due to the lockdown.
Not only has the famous Dundee Rural Horse Riding Event being cancelled this year, but punters could not even put on a wager at the tote in Boundary Road.

So punters were full of smiles when the Dundee Tote did re-open so that punters could at least have a bet on the biggest horse race of the year – the Vodacom Durban July – which was held, for the first time in 124 years, without spectators at Greyville.

Staff at the tote were also full of smiles and, with all safety and sanitizing protocols in place, they were glad to welcome back their punters.

Mila Manneson, a staff member, commented that “the lockdown has been very difficult for customers and ourselves. Our customers almost became bankrupt! We missed all our punters and we especially missed their smiles, all because of Covid-19.”
