One unit of blood can save up to three lives and it only takes 30 minutes, four times a year

The South African Blood Service (SANBS) is urging blood donors to still donate blood on a regular basis, since blood levels are declining and the demand for blood is rising. One unit of blood can save up to three lives and it only takes 30 minutes, four times a year.

– Weigh 50kg or more;
– Be in good health;
– Lead a healthy lifestyle;
– Consider your blood safe for transfusion to a patient;
– Commit to donating blood regularly.
The SANBS will be visiting Vryheid on the following dates:
August 14 at Klipkerk from 11am until 6pm; August 15 at PnP from 9am until 1pm; August 22 at PnP from 9am until 1pm. Connect the SANBS on Twitter (@theSANBS), Facebook (@SANBS) and Instagram (@thesanbs).
