ESTCOURT: Paving the way to educational success

"Education is the only weapon we use for the development of the country"

Learners from Weenen Combined School welcomed a visit from Simunye Youth Development Project and the local municipality’s youth office recently.

The team was at the school to advise and assist learners with registering for the National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS), as well as the Central Applications Office (CAO).

Sthe Mtshali from Simunye Youth Development Project said this exercise opened a world of educational opportunities for the learners.

“Education is the only weapon we use for the development of the country,” he said.

The project was further extended when out-of-school youth in the Weenen community were also assisted with registration.

The programme was run by Sthe Mtshali (project manager of Simunye Youth Development Project), United Civil of the Inkosi Langalibalele Organisation / uThukela District Civil Society Secretary and Senamile Hlongwane (youth officer).
