Celeste Rossouw from AMAFA is looking for the remains of old Voortrekker homesteads, graveyards, etc, in the Okhahlamba region.

On October 1, she visited The Nest Mountain Resort.

She visited the site of where Opperman settled in 1838 and built his home. David Gray from Cathkin Braes in Scotland bought the farm Opperman’s Kraal in 1854 and changed the name to Cathkin after Cathkin Braes in Scotland.

Rossouw was accompanied by Johan Outram, Anthony and Lincoln Gray, and Shelley Longmore.
