NEWCASTLE: Police open case of culpable homicide after death of pedestrian
A case of culpable homicide has been opened.
Lizzy Arumugam of Newcastle SAPS Corporate Communications has confirmed that a case of culpable homicide has been opened after the death of a pedestrian yesterday (October 20).
“It is alleged the driver knocked a pedestrian, who was crossing the road at a red robot,” confirmed Arumugam.
The incident occurred at the corner of Allen Street and Drakensberg Drive at around 10.10am.
“The victim (66) died on the scene. Police investigations continue,” she concluded.
