ESTCOURT: Dense smoke on the N3, proceed with caution

A strong gust of wind has caused smoke from a controlled burning to waft across the N3, making visibility poor.

Motorists that are travelling along the N3 between Midway and Hidcote are advised to proceed with caution.

Umtshezi Fire Protection Association chairman Warren Blaker said that the fire is due to a controlled burning.
“All of the requirements have been met. A stronger than forecast wind blew smoke across the freeway,” he explained.
