DUNDEE: Security officials, SAPS swoop after gang invades home

Nembile Security and SAPS thanked for their quick work

Swift action from Nembile Security and SAPS resulted in the arrest of one man after a gang of five men invaded the home of an elderly couple on Ann Street yesterday afternoon.  Two of the men were armed.

The men entered the house and tied up the elderly couple and their helper. Their garden worker, realizing what was happening, ran to get help from the neighbours who called Nembila Security.

SAPS were also alerted. The men managed to make off with some money but dumped all the electronic appliances they were about to load up when the neighbour approached the house.

They made off in a getaway car that was later recovered. One of the armed men was apprehended by Nembile Security and SAPS later recovered the car.

The couple and their helper were said to be shaken but otherwise ok. A SAPS investigation is continuing.
