Ladysmith KZN: Hospital staff honour lives lost to Covid-19

Ladysmith Regional Hospital has lost 26 staff members since December

Ladysmith Provincial Hospital held a prayer session on Thursday, November 5, to remember all the staff members who have lost their lives to the Covid-19 pandemic.

In an exclusive interview with hospital spokesperson Mr Thabo Sithole, he said that since last year December, they have lost 26 staff members; some dying due to Covid-19 and others due to natural causes.

“The hospital has lost staff during the Covid-19 pandemic and due to the regulations set out by government, we were unable to honour those members. But today, with this prayer, we are saying that we will forever hold them in our hearts. We also want to boost the morale of our workers, as we are still faced with the coronavirus,” said Sithole.

“Loss and sorrow are in the air. We fear losing or may have already lost people we love and when we work up the courage to look beyond our individual personal spheres, we see that many people who have made our world better in big and small ways have vanished before we were ready to let them go,” said one grieving member of staff who attended the prayer meeting.
