DUNDEE KZN: Umzinyathi a hot spot area as Covid-19 spreads

The awareness clinic is taking place today behind the Endumeni Municipal building

The Umzinyathi District has been declared a ‘hot spot’ area as Covid-19 cuts a swathe of tragedy throughout the region, Health officials told the Courier today.

The Umvoti area, Greytown,  has been particularly hard hit but infections and deaths are increasing daily in the greater Dundee area too. Infections are well over 5000 now with deaths over 200. Official figures will be released by the Department of Health over the weekend.

Today, Health Workers are again hard at work screening and carrying out Covid-19 testing at an outreach programme conducted behind the Endumeni Municipality building, adjacent to the Mpathe Clinic.

Patients can also have their blood pressure, sugar levels checked and be tested for HIV. Strict Covid-19 protocols are in place.
