Ladysmith KZN: 6 injured as vehicles collide head-on in Limit Hill

The jaws-of-life had to be used to get the driver of the Toyota out of the vehicle

A taxi and a single-cab Toyota were involved in a head-on collision in Limit Hill this afternoon (April 21). The taxi was carrying 15 passengers at the time.

A motorist who saw the accident happen pulled over and immediately called for help. Ambulance services and Public Safety responded to the scene.

The Toyota landed on its side off the roadway. The jaws-of-life had to be used to get the driver out of the vehicle.

The badly-injured driver was unconscious and was treated by ER24 paramedics at the scene. The driver and a passenger, who was also injured, were rushed to hospital. 

Four passengers in the taxi sustained injuries and were taken to hospital as well. The taxi driver was unharmed.
