Ladysmith KZN: Streetlights on during the day and off at night

Electricity is shockingly wasted in the daylight hours, and people are then left afraid at night in the dark

Residents in Centenary Road are outraged about the ‘streetlight situation’.

They say the streetlights burn bright when the sun is shining, but ‘die’ at night when illumination is needed.

“These lights are off at night, but come on in the day. What is the purpose of that? Electricity is wasted in the daylight hours and people are then left blind and afraid at night!” fumed one of the residents.

The municipality had not commented on the matter at the time of publishing this article.
