Ladysmith KZN: Shearer Road has running water after 8 days

According to uThukela, there was a problem with pressure balancing

Residents in Shearer Road had to go without water for eight days, since last Monday (May 3).

Their water supply has now been restored. Although happy that they have running water again, residents are asking what the problem was…

An infuriated woman explained how difficult it was without water to drink, bathe or cook with. ”It was so incredibly frustrating, as we expected the water to come back on the same day. Imagine our consternation when day after day came and our taps were still dry as a bone.”

According to uThukela communications manager Jabulani Mkhonza, there was a problem with pressure balancing and that is the reason for the outage.

uThukela engineers were on-site yesterday (May 11) and solved the issue. The area now has water again.
