Ladysmith KZN: Potholes pose danger to pedestrians and motorists

The resident says that cheap materials are being used by the municipality

A resident from Delhi Road says the potholes in the area are impeding traffic and also causing undue wear and tear on vehicles.

“Hitting a pothole even at the speed limit can pop a tyre, damage a car or even pose a physical threat to drivers and pedestrians. After months of complaints, a pothole is repaired… and after two weeks, it’s back to normal,” says the frustrated resident.

According to her, the municipality are using cheap materials, which is the reason for potholes being ‘born again’.

Alfred Duma Local Municipality were contacted for comment, but none had been received at the time of publishing this article.
