Disaster Management services have been alerted of a fire that set alight tyres in the industrial area near the SPCA.

Thick blacks smoke is billowing over the area and motorists are urged to travel with caution as the smoke is impacting on visibility.

Neighbouring business owners said the fire appeared to start in an adjacent vekd near the railway line which then spread to the tyres stored at the depot.

Follow ups will be provided when this become available.
