GLENCOE KZN: Sarel Cilliers announces top achievers

Be vigilant and stay safe; while many students may be strong and resilient to the virus, it is possible that they might be taking the virus home and infecting other vulnerable family members.

Last week saw the return of the Grade 8 and Grade 9 learners on a fulltime basis, only for the school to close for four days due to Covid-19 cases, so that deep cleaning could take place. Four children in the school hostel tested positive for the virus, with fifteen learners placed in isolation.

All sporting activities have been cancelled until further notice. As the Covid 19 third wave threatens to sweep across the country it is important to adhere to all safety protocols: please sanitize and wash your hands regularly, wear your mask and keep a safe distance from others (1,5 meters ), do not share foodstuff or drinks.

Parents are implored to please not send children to school if they are showing any Covid-19 symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea,  a raised temperature of 38C or higher, body aches or any other flu-like symptoms.

Be vigilant and stay safe; while many students may be strong and resilient to the virus, it is possible that they might be taking the virus home and infecting other vulnerable family members.

School staff are also put at risk. Schools are a high-risk area, and while Sarel Cilliers is vigilant in adhering to all safety protocols, your child can also assist in helping to combat the virus by acting in a responsible manner. Academic progress continues.
