Ladysmith KZN: Sanitary pad donations to schools in the area

The aim is to bring confidence to the learners and ensure that a child will not miss a day of school

uThukela District Mayor Siphiwe Mazibuko, in partnership with the Gift of the Givers and the uThukela District Youth Office, recently brought joy to the learners at Gorton Bridge and Amahlubimangwe primary schools by donating over 150 sanitary packs to the children.

The aim of this initiative is to bring confidence to the learners and also ensure that a child will not miss a day of school. uThukela District Municipality believes in lending a helping hand to the most needy and playing its part by providing essential basic needs.

The mayor also reminded the teachers and learners that although some Covid-19 restrictions have been lifted, the pandemic is not over yet, so they need to adhere to the rules and regulations by wearing their masks at all times, washing their hands and maintaining safe social distancing.
