Ladysmith KZN: Dam levels over 90% as winter sets in

The snowfall could further increase the levels in the coming days

Winter has arrived, but according to reports from Umgeni Water, the dam levels in the Uthukela area are good, with plenty of water resources to last us through the cold dry months.

With that said, here are the latest levels for dams in the Ladysmith area…

Both Spioenkop and Wagendrift dams are full, on 100.03% and 100.38% respectively.

Driel Barrage Dam is on 99.3% and Woodstock on 97.37%.

As you can see, the levels are still very good. Snow has fallen, so there is a chance of the dam levels increasing further as the snow melts and trickles into the catchment areas over the coming days.
