One person sadly lost their life in a horror crash on the Ladysmith bypass this evening (June 16).

A Toyota Hilux crashed down a steep embankment after the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle. 

The driver was flung out of the vehicle and was pronounced dead at the scene. 

Police, Public Safety, paramedics and towing services responded.

Motorists travelling along the bypass stopped to find out what had happened.

The deceased is believed to have been an employee at uThukela District Municipality.
