Ladysmith KZN: Driver seriously injured after crashing into tree in Ruby Gailey Drive
Emergency personnel rushed to the scene, along with Public Safety officers, police and towing services

The driver of a VW Touareg was seriously injured in a crash along Ruby Gailey Drive earlier this evening (June 19).
The exact cause of the crash is unknown at this stage. However, it is believed that the driver lost control of the vehicle and crashed into a palm tree in the median strip of the roadway.
Emergency personnel rushed to the scene, along with Public Safety officers, police and towing services.
The injured man was treated and stabilised at the scene before being taken to hospital for further treatment.

Residents in the area gathered around to see what was going on and if they could help in any way.
Some residents and passing motorists assisted with traffic control so that vehicles could pass safely.
Debris from the wreckage was scattered all over the roadway due to the impact with the tree.
