Today marks the Winter Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere

Did you know that today is the shortest day of the year?

Today marks the Winter Solstice in the Southern Hemisphere. The seasonal significance of the winter solstice is in the reversal of the gradual lengthening of nights and shortening of days.

That means that each day going forward, we will receive more hours of daylight. Not sure how it works?
