Ladysmith KZN: Inspectors ‘not allowed’ at new diamond digging site
The number of people coming to the area is growing...

After KZN Premier Sihle Zikalala issued a statement that the KwaHlathi ‘diamond site’ is closed and people are no longer allowed to dig in the area, residents of Ntshele just before Ekuvukeni (Ward 36 under Alfred Duma Local Municipality) have now started digging in their area.
They also believe that they are digging for diamonds.

The local induna (headman), Mr Zikalala, said that the digging started this past week after the KwaHlathi stones were declared not to be diamonds. He says they will not allow any inspectors in their area.
The number of people digging in the area is growing, as ‘prospectors’ from far and wide have started flooding in to search for their fortune.
